What Is A Miracle?                                                                                                                              According to the Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon a Miracle is defined as "a sign, mark, token (as a special display of God's power); that by which a person or a thing is distinguished from others and is known a sign, prodigy, portent, i.e. an unusual occurrence, transcending the common course of nature; signs portending remarkable events soon to happen of miracles and wonders by which God authenticates the men sent by him, or by which men prove that the cause they are pleading is God's"

I Though Miracles Were Only Doing The Bible Days?                                                                                     Not True. God is and always will be a miracle working God. He said I am the Lord thy God, I change not. Which means if He was working miracles in the Bible He is still working them today. God Does not change. The main reason many people don't see miracles in their life is because of incorrect thinking and unbelief.

What Is The Purpose of Miracles?                                                                                                           Miracles were used frequently to demonstrate Gods power and to confirm the preaching of the Gospel. All thorough the Bible we see Miracles attached to the preaching of the gospel by the Apostles.

"So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders" (Acts 14:3) (NIV)

God oftentimes uses miracles to meet the needs of belivers.

They can also be used by the Holy Spirit to bring Salvation to the lost. There are many cases in the Bible where a person received a miracle and as a result of their miracle, other people saw and heard about it and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.  (John 2:2: Acts 4:22)

Miracles are used as a tool to add people to the Body of Christ and grow the church.   (Acts 5:12)

Why Are We Seeing And Hearing of More Miracle Stories Today?                                                                 The closer we get to the return of Jesus Christ, we will began to see more and more escalation of all types of divers Miracles, Signs and Wonders. It is an indication that Jesus is soon to return!

Where Does The Power To Work Miracles Come From?                                                                                                Galatians 3:5 states "Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?"  In this passage Paul states that miracles are supplied to believers through the power of Gods Spirit.

Do All All Miracles Come From God?                                                                                                               No. There are what's know as "counterfeit miracles", these are oftentimes works of Satan through witchcraft or the occult. (Ex. 7:8-13; 7:19-23; 8:1-7; 8-16-19; 9:8-12)

Can Anyone Be Used Of God To Do Miracles?                                                                                                While there are some things that all believers can do such as, laying hands on the sick, casting out devils, speaking in new tongues, it would appear from 1Corinthians 12:7-11 which states "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues."

Not all believers are given the gift of working miracles. This does not mean that the individual is any less important to God or the body. However Gods gift are commiserate to our calling and His sovereign purpose for each individuals life. God gives you what you need to accomplish the assignment He created you for.

Can I Receive A Miracles and Then Lose It.  The short answer to this question is yes, It happens all the time. I myself have received miracles from God only to lose them latter because I did not take adequate steps to protect what God has given me. For more information on this subject see  (How To Maintain Your Miracle).

What Are Some Of The "Pros" of Miracles:  You must know that the devil hates the working of miracles. While he does not have the power to stop the Holy Spirit from working them, he will try and intervene in people lives through sin or persecution often times who are involved in the working of miracles.

I have noticed as I studied the bible, that Jesus as well as the Apostles suffered much persecution as they preached the of the gospel which was often accompanied by miracle, signs and wonders. It is something that  you just have to be prepared for and decide that you are not going to back down to the enemies threatenings no matter what.

1 Kings Chapter 17,18 & 19  Elijah the prophet was persecuted by Ahab and by Jezebel because of the miracles which he did.

John 11:1-47  Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead, immediately following this, the bible says that the chief priest and Pharasises took counsel together to put Jesus to death.

Acts Chapter 4  Peter and John were brought before the Sanhedrin Counsel for preaching speaking the Name of Jesus and for working miracles of healing. But there response was simply "And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus." This must be your response as well.

Your Next Miracle, Is In Your Praise                                                                                                        Believe it or not, often times God works miracles for us through our Praise and Worship:  The scripture says that at midnight Paul and Silas sang. (Acts 16:25)  God worked a miracle for them just becasue they dared to praise and worship him in the midst of their affliction. The next time you find yourself going through dont complain, JUST GIVE GOD PRAISE. When we do this we let God know that we trust Him in spite of the challenges we may be facing. We let God know that we are not leaning to our own understanding but we are trusting in HIM to work a miracle on our behalf.
